Default FDX, R-lines and recurrent

I'm away from a copy of our contract and am wondering about bidding an r-line with recurrent training. If recurrent touches a block of r-days, are all the r-days in that block dropped? Then I use the view/add window to replace the hours of the dropped r-days?
Thanks, o't

I've done this numerous times. Here's my understanding ... if your training conflicts with a string of R-days, the entire string of R-days are dropped ... unless training rests entirely on the beginning or end of the string and then only those days are dropped.

To be certain ... call your Futures Scheduler and get their interpretation. Or better yet, email your Futures scheduler an get a reply IN WRITING. I figure it's unlikely they'll put themselves on report?

Mayday is correct. If a single R-day is on either side of your training days, then the entire block will be dropped. i.e.

rrtttrrr entire block dropped
rtttrrrrrrrr entire block dropped
tttrrrrrrrr only those days impacted dropped

clear as mud?

And dropped days credit does go into mu bank, eligible for carry in conflict award.

What about a long string of r-days that carryover? Are they all dropped and eligible for CIC in that month or are the carryover r-days value put into the month they carryover into?

Confirmed this with my futures scheduler last month--if the R day block carries over into the next month, AND the training days split said block of R days, all R days in the block are dropped (including carryover days). All dropped R day values go into make-up bank; then you can use the View/Add window for that value, plus 6 hours.

But, I think this only works for that current month--you don't get 2 different bites (in successive months) at the View/Add apple. Any of those hours not used during View/Add revert to "normal" makeup.

Finally, don't forget you need 12 hours after R period ends, and 12 hours prior to R period start, for rest requirements when trying to "split" the R day block.

If I'm OTL on any of this, someone else chime in pronto.

Actually, you have to have at least TWO days on either side for the whole block to be dropped. Found this out the hard way. Some reason about the first day is automatically dropped, so rtttrrr wouldn't work. Has to be at least rrtttrr.

Trust, but verify.

At the front, yes, if you have RGS or GWOE the first day. If its a sim the first day, it needs to brief after 130pm. At the end of a block, depends on when your simulator event is scheduled to finish as well, 12hrs prior to your scheduled R period. At least this is how I understand it.

Does r day = reserve day? Just wondering, not that it matters, yet, but maybe in the future!!
