Is anyone signing up for the new short term disability? If so, what options are you choosing and why? I'm sure its different with everyone, but, just looking for some insight regarding STD and LTD.
I was told that it may not be worth it with our existing insurance?
This is crazy, we can land an airplane in zero vis, but, I can't figure out what insurance coverages I need!

FWIW, my dad told me: "The two nicest, most well-furnished buildings you're likely to see are: 1) a casino, and 2) an insurance company's headquarters. And they're not paying the light bill with their 'own' money, either."
Hopefully, when presented with a valid claim, an insurance company would promptly pay the amount covered. Sadly, that is sometimes the exception and not the rule (Can you say "flood damage" vs. "rip off the roof and then rain pours in damage."?) And trying to wade through the legalese and disclaimers and exceptions in ANY coverage policy is enough to give anyone a helmet fire. Having said that, I have always been impressed with USAA's auto claims service.
