Default Radioactive packages

Yea, just woke up ................ newswires are buzzing about a missing radioactive medical package ??? Reported as medical grade stuff and supposed to be safe as long as the packaging is not tampered with ............................. What say you ???

So the first thing is don't screw with the packaging. Secondly, I'd not get my panties in a wad, just because the "newswires are buzzing" about anything. Have you not learned to treat the news media with a certain degree of disdain? Thirdly, most medical radioactivity has to do with dyes and contrasts that are used to highlight things in our bodies, like enlarged lymph nodes, blockages, etc. The use of radioisotopes for medical diagnosis and treatments results in the generation of mainly Low-Level Waste. This waste includes paper, rags, tools, clothing and filters, which contain small amounts of mostly short-lived radioactivity. These types of waste often undergo decay storage for periods of months to a few years before being disposed of at urban land-fill sites. The key here is that most medical radioactive products have a very short half-life.

In conclusion, I'd suggest not worrying too much about it, and as an afterthought, you might consider giving the package back.
