Default FDX 401K Autopilot

Any info on the Autopilot program offered by Rhoads-Lucca for our 401k?

You have to have a minimum of 250K in your account before they will accept you. They have 2 levels of service, full auto pilot, costs 1.5% annually to .5% annually depending on balance.

Other service level is monthly emails and reports about market and recommendations. I think it is 80 per year for that.

FYI.

If you call them, they will send you a package overnight that explains it all. Good luck. Dont have the number but easy to find on google.

they are funds based on your planned age of retirement. they pick the types of investment options based on how close you get to the retirement age. starts fairly aggressive (mostly stocks & higher risk), then shifts to conservative (bonds & mutual funds) toward the end.

most investment companies have target funds, but Vanguard is considered one of the best places to go.

Relative to each other, ie. the 2025 fund is more aggressive than the 2015 fund!

One reason is that the target funds at Vanguard got clobbered in the 2008 down market like all the others. Express Advisor had us in 100% cash by the late summer. Making money is good, not losing money is great.

Did it time the market well as far as getting back in and buying low?
