Like the time he said, to a room-full of First Officer Flex Instructors, "Having First Officers as Flex Instructors sucks."

Yeah, he was an outstanding advocate that day.

Jack is not perfect. None of us are. He looked out for me when I needed it in the past. I think he is a good man, sometimes he says things in the heat of battle that gets him in trouble. I have been known to do that myself from time to time.

Obviously, your experience hasn't been like mine - My first ACP was R.F., god rest his soul, followed by T. "we ain't crashed one yet" F., then to ANC for a year with F.P., then back to MEM where T.F. was my ACP again followed by C. "Don't you know who I am? I was an All-American at UT." W for 4+ years. Except for my 11 months as the junior guy in ANC, my first 7 years were filled with total jack asses for ACPs! Not until J.P and now S.M. have I had a decent human being as an ACP!

All I know is I don't want non pilots as flight management.
Fed up? He's been sitting at the table since day one. Again, I think his heart is probably in the right place but his efforts ARE NOT in our interests. Does he keep some of the crap from getting down to our level? Sure he does. That's why I think his heart is in the right place. But the option to "just say no" is and always was there. He only needs to say the words.

If you're talking about VP of flight ops, chief pilot or assistant chief pilots the FAR's don't allow for non-pilots as flight managers. Get up to the executive VP level (not defined by FAR's) and you get mechanics put in charge.

man you really like to pick nebulus things out of the entire package. I don't know if I think FO's as flex is a good job either. fact of the matter is there are still fo's as flexes so all he did was express his feelings, right? I guess that's a bad thing, letting people know where you stand on an issue

Jeez, must have lost my telephone number!! My first trip was gone due to CIC. The second one due to the fact that I had a 24 hour virus! Received my last draft call back in December, the one prior to that was about three years ago.

While I like your enthusiasm for getting a contract, I take issue with your comment ! Commuters are turning down draft and more importantly doing what needs to be done like MAX vacation, Carry in conflicting, protecting MIN days off etc. The idea of not deviating has merrit and I am sure that would help to. Talk to any commuter (with a call or do not call draft choice) and they will tell you they are being called too. Might not be as much as a locals but it is happening. Let's work together and if EVERYONE does what they can do it will have an immediate impact at the table.....
