FDX pay loophole closed?
1 or 2 bids ago where there excessed pilots who bid HKG Capt while it was "full" ?
Example" excessed 72 Capt bids HKG Capt (not open) ends up flying as W/B F/O getting paid for Capt. If so about how many did this 100-200? Did they get paid.
Now that we have had an new posting are they still getting paid.

It was not ony excessed captains, any one senior to the most jr Hkg Capt could have been eligible for passover (after jumping through the hoops the company and union agreed to in LOA version 6.3 service pac 3).
Prior to the last bid closing the union sent out an email that told those receiving passover to bid carefully to continue to receive passover and or avoid paying it back. The most Jr guy awarded HKG Capt on this last bid was a 2450ish seniority number. The most Jr guy on the HKG Capt list is 3700ish. I suspect there are still pilots between 2450 and 3700 still receiving Passover for HKG Capt and flying in the right seat of another acft.

It's not that many guys, about 50 or so. I'm around 2700 on the seniority list, got the passover eligibility on the bid about a year and a half ago (the one with 20 HKG capt vacancies), but because of our ingenious virtual training letter agreement I'm not eligible for passover pay till sometime in the beginning of 2011, almost 2 years after the bid close.
And some people swore that 2nd LOA was nothing but good news and attacked me when I said I'll wait and see. Guess I can say I waited and saw. Thanks for the info. Virtual training letters; gotta admire their negotiators.

Don't think the FEPP agreement had anything to do with FDA LOA II. It was a "good deal" that weakened existing sections of the CBA on its own. Virtual training letter created language that formalized the "when" of passover pay (good) in a very advantageous fashion for the company (bad). In exchange for this we got much stricter rules about stopping and paying back passover with no specifics on how it would be paid back (very bad). Naturally this one didn't require membership ratification... But think of all the good will we fostered! Hey, didn't 4a2b kick in shortly after this agreement?
