Hot off the press (crewbus)
Our negotiating committee has or is near a vastly improved FDA LOA
Highlights -
1. $4,000/month stipend
2. Dynamic US Dollar equalization based on what country you are in
3. Significant portion of schooling for children paid for
4. Most of what was good in the previous FDA/LOA
From what I heard it is a very good improvement. If this is true, kudos to our negotiating committee and kudos to the company for righting the inadequacies of the previous FDA LOA.

I too am all for resolving all of the company's issues before we enter contract negotiations. It is always so much easier to negotiate when only one side has issues to resolve.
How many months of involuntary STV did we sign the Jr guys up for?

Not sure this is the best position to take. I think the more issues we can resolve to our satisfaction prior to openers the less "Negotiating Capitol" we have to expend "inside" negotiations to solve them. This "saved" capitol can then be applied to other issues after section 6 openers........Work Rules and Retirement/Insurance topping my list.......FWIW![Cool](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)

I VOTE NO AS WELL!
HKG is pretty much the only negotiating capital we've got. The company needs an MD11 base there asap. 777 is gobbling up ocean crossings. DHing (tix and lost days) crews to Asia is WAY more expensive than Europe. They know there is no way they can fill the right seat of anything in HKG.
Bottom line: They have to throw some money at this problem.
Once HKG is fixed, they can sit on contract negotiations for years!
Put it all in the contract.

Why not memorialize it so we can improve on it later? Where have we heard that?
I think we should have pen in hand, ready to sign an LOA and just before doing so say, "Now about the rest of the contract?" And then not sign until we have a complete contract deal.
This is our biggest LEVERAGE we have. Why waste it on an LOA. We need it for the contract negotiations. If the company is willing to make a deal now, then they really want it bad.
And yes, I have emailed my rep with my thoughts.
