So, the internal guys got letters from their bosses. Looks like the pros and corporate guys are in 4 month intervals starting in January.

One class in January, February, March, and April. That should be a total of 25 new guys...approximately. Good news!

Did hear from the instructors from the big meeting last week....

PC said something in the first meeting about hiring 150 in 2011. First 90 to back seat 727 and the next 60 to right seat 757.

Basic indoc is being rewritten to be about 14 days long. 10 days of FOM. They are preparing to hire right into the right seat. J Gorman apparently said that BI will include hotels for the new hires, they will try to get their family involved in the process and introduce the families to FedEx too.

Sounds like some big changes. Glad there will finally be some movement.

Nice to see you on the cargo forum. With all the Big D posts I would think you would be to busy to visit us. That place was great and the price was nice. But no walking access to Walmart.

Fiscal 2011 or calendar 2011? And only 25 guys hired by the end of April? Usually Fedex talks in Fiscal years.

Do you think poolies will get to go in these first few classes? I don't know how many internal pilots there are, but it sounds like small classes. Thanks everyone for all of the information.

I think it would be a violation of the internal guys contracts to hire outside folks first. It would only be internals the first few months. Of course, anything could happen but that could cause a huge stink.

Hiring is physical year 2011. Jan 1 - December 31.

Thanks for the fast response.

I would guess poolies will come in around May then. One other question. How is seniority determined in class? Is it age, last 4 of ssn, etc....

Last 4 of your ssn, highest number is most senior.

Fedex's Fiscal year is from June 1st to May 31st. Soo 2011 fiscal year ends May 31st, 2011.

I meant to say calendar year...for some reason can't even spell fiscal. It's 150 in the calendar year 2011. Geez. I stink.
