Remember that we have about 20-30 guys that have filled their commitment as Corp pilots and Sim instructors that get first crack now that 4a2b is over. Then we have approximately 30-40 in the pool.

I would guess we could see some of those guys in training before peak and hiring in the spring of 2011...just a guess though???

Default Hiring

FedEx will start hiring 5 years from when the Age 60 rule was changed. It will be a couple more years!

The company just doesn't move that fast to have a bid AND hiring. They'll look at how this does and make a decision. I'd say January at the earliest. But I could be totally wrong.

I rode home with you guys last Thursday and seems to jive with the rumors the crew and other jumpseaters were talking about. My fingers are crossed that they're true! Would love to join you guys someday!

I thought the A in EMEA was 'Africa', and the pilot base was Mogadishu...

...and the Union leadership has agreed YOU MUST live within 100NM of the new Mogadishu domicile.

The company has to protect the freight!!

(...translation: We need guys living in domicile so they'll pick up extra flying and airport standbys)

Yeah, it's a done deal. Just like the two CDG bids. They can't even decide on a continent with this one, just bid it and they'll let you know when you check in for the DH flight.

Few of us old timers with no alimony or child support that still enjoy getting paid to drive the plane.

Good luck to all bidding 57 & 77. Both should be a hell of a ride.

Yeah the problem after 20+ years of flying you seem to enjoy little else. Why has any contract wasted capital on negotiating a pension for folks like you? Unfortunately our crew force is starting to look more and more like you-a bunch of ancient looking feeble old men...and that's not good for ANY work force.
