Default FDX-MEM hotel for few days of training?

Anyone have recommendations for a hotel near the MEM hub for a couple of days of recurrent training? I'd rather not stay at the Holiday Inn as it's quite nasty there is nothing to eat unless you like fried chicken or catfish. I remember reading somewhere that we get a good FDX rate at some other hotels nearby that provide transportation to and from the hub. Thanks.....

The SIG notes or webpage has several other good options besides the Hollowpoint. Make sure you check out their transpo ROE.

Courtyard in Collierville offers a pretty good rate, transpo, and good eats in walking distance. Fairfield in Olive Branch is similar layout.

I've transitioned over to the Radisson. If you get a room NOT facing the runways, it's no worse than the Holiday Inn. Rates are $54 and $61 for 24 hours. Transportation is OK and the restaurant is far better than the HI.

Only downside is when you call for a reservation it often rolls into the central res number and they have no clue about a FedEx pilot rate. When you check in the front desk will fix the rate for you.

I wouldn't stay there for ITU or a long period of time, but for a couple of days of recurrent it's fine.

Do a search on this forum for the same exact question asked and answered at least half-a-dozen times already.

The Marriott on Nonconnah is the best deal I have found. FedEx rate is $57/night and they will take you to the sim, training building, and AOC and, pick you up. So no need to rent a car. Rooms are clean, hotel grounds are secure and there is a Subway across the street. Also, one of the local BBQ places will pick you up and take you back to the hotel after you eat. Also, there is Chinese delivery. Free internet too.

Except for being in MEM, a pretty good deal!

I also use the Courtyard Marriott on Nonconnah. What he said, all very true. And if you need a 24 hour rate, it's around $67 or $69, if you ever get stuck in MEM with a day to kill between flights. The BBQ place that delivers, is excellent, btw.
If you sweet talk them, they will give you the large, mini suite, which is like a one bedroom apartment, for no additional cost. I have gotten it several times, without asking. Join the Marriott Rewards program. They treat us good there.
Breakfast buffet is reasonably priced, and good also.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Just wanna make my stay in Mempho as painless as possible, especially since we're on the hook an extra day due to the Global War of Error.........

Seconded. Great staff, easy transportation, no hassles. Subway right across the street for a quick bite during the day too. $55 for regular stay, $69 for 24 hour stay the last time I was there.

Both marriotts I quoted earlier offer the same pricing (must be marriott standard) and have the advantage of your being able to walk outside in the evening. It is a little bit longer ride in the morning and evening but the location has more to offer than a subway and bbq delivery.
