Default Atlas Schedule

So for you Atlas guys. Has the schedule changed at all in the past couple years since the merger? Are you still out 20 days/month every month?

How often are you getting extended?

What hours have you been flying/payed monthly on average?

Is this something a married guy with little kids can do?

Please shed some light on the lifestyle as of late...

thanks

Good luck on your interview!

1) Not merged yet. CBA still being negotiated but will end up in arbitration in the fall, maybe?

2) It occurs but not as much since STN has been closed.

3) Varies by person. Count on guarantee. New hire 50 then 62 after.

4) Again depends on family structure and network. Guys are able to do it but doesn't mean it is for you and your family. Ask yourself and spouse. Can I be gone up to 17 days, 21 in certain situations, without undo stress and drama each day and asking "when are you coming home"?

5) It's getting better and hopefully a lot better after the cba is in place maybe at the start of 2011? If you like travel around the globe with changes that are common, no trip/pay protection, then go for it.
Guys are cool to fly with, it is an adventure and the -400 is fun to fly when it is your turn to fly(twice a month, maybe).

Good luck with your decision.

If you fly over guarantee, I understand it's higher wages. 1.5??? At anyrate, does that start at 50 for a new hire or 62 like everyone else.

So does Atlas have a habit of flying your min guarantee hours out and then sitting you for 4 or more days on the road waiting for your 17 day clock to expire? Or do they ever utilize you for a more reasonable # of fight hours given the number of straight days you are on the road every now and then?

Thanks

No, if the company has you work more than 17 days without giving you compensatory days days off, the flying you do on days 18, 19, 20 etc. is paid at a higher rate. If you hit 100 hours in 15 days it's just straight pay.
