Some of you men are truly perceptive, I have read his post 6 or 7 times and I can’t find where he has asked for sympathy. Little help for some of us slower neanderthals, where exactly does he ask for symapthy, particulalry from other less fortunate members of the profession?

Wow. The responses to this thread bode ill for our negotiations.
FedEx is making hundreds of millions a quarter.
Pilots help generate that revenue.
FedEx management is making a money grab that pilots are paying for.
We need some unity or we will get our buttocks kicked.

He doesn't "particulalry" ask for "symapthy" at any time. But posting those numbers on a public board while so many fellow pilots are out of work is just poor form. There's lots of ways to ask the question he asked without waving the nums in everyone's face. Using percentages for example.

The minute we exit 4.a.2.b (if that ever happens), we need stickers, tags, etc. that say "Remember 4.a.2.b" or that have the total stolen dollar amount.

I agree that the specific numbers didn't need to be on a public forum. That said, the fact is that we negotiated a legally binding contract that should have paid him more than it did last year.

Personal opinions on how much money is enough, situations at other airlines, etc. are not germane to the discussion. We have a legally binding contract, we believe it's been violated, and we'd better stay pi$$ed and unified through the next negotiation or last year will be the new normal for us.

There is NOBODY that is more p*ssed off than I am about management stealing money from my paycheck! That said, I do think posting annual income on a public forum is in VERY BAD taste. You should know better ...

What the frick is wrong with you people?!?! This company is literally KILLING IT financially and has taking away OUR money that has been hard fought for during lengthy and tiresome negotiations that we bargained for! It's not like we are on the brink of bankruptcy.

Don't EVER apologize for the dues that you paid to get here and the money that you make. Are you kidding me, wake up! Quit comparing other airlines and other employees to our company and situation. We all knew the good, the bad and the ugly with this industry when we choose this profession. Do I feel bad for those that have taken pay cuts and been furloughed? Sure, of course I do. But I am also smart enough to broaden my knowledge and skill base to do something else if a worst case scenario happened.

I don't remember Untied or Delta pilots apologizing for their $300/hr contact so why can't someone vent that they have taken a 30% haircut???

I actually think the numbers communicate his point much more clearly than any other code speak would.

Maybe we can petition APC to take our payrates down from their site. After all we don't want to seem prideful or contribute to the overall bad mood in our chosen profession.

Purpletail,

I agree with you... However, it would have been just as well said if he just said he had taken a 30% (or whatever it was) paycut rather than posting his annual salary. I didn't have a problem with it, but some others obviously did.

I've worked a few jobs in this industry, on the top one day and in bankruptcy the next. I do think we have the best job in the industry, however, I do have some humility. It goes a long way. We may be on the bottom in a year or so....

With all that said, the focus should be on 4.a.2.b and the effect it had on our wallets. Hopefully we can rally behind this and work together for a better contract. If it doesn't **** you off, then probably nothing will...
