Default Hypothetical FDA LOA

So lets assume that FedEx still wants a new euro domicile. Lets also assume that they want to sweeten the pot a bit to entice folks to a MD base in HKG. This would require a new LOA. What are the things that you would need to see to vote for said LOA?

Should just be a cash monthly payment, maybe $5000, with no stipulations on how you spend it. Live wherever you want, just like all of us in MEM, LAX, and ANC...and keep the cash. That and some help with schooling and you would fill all the FDAs.

How about getting rid of the "tax equalization" b.s., and let the people who bid it take advantage of being a expat....

If the MD HKG fda loa recieves enhancements, will the existing Airbus HKG get them too? Will they be retroactive?

I once worked for a "Once Great" Legacy carrier that had a base in Europe. Because the benefits were so good, the base was EXTREMELY senior. I'm sure I'll never remember all the benefits but some included education reimbursement, the company would ship a car (Space A on company aircraft, I mean we do work for a shipping company!), cost of living allowance ...

The base was so senior that there were European based 727 s/o's senior to stateside 727 Capt's. I'll see if I can find an old copy of the contract and see what else was in there

So ... at least at some other companies, pilots were considered "employees with special skills."

How about they give our pilots either:

a) the same package they give the HKG-based Fedex middle managers.

b) the standard expat package that other American companies give their expats. This includes a MUCH larger housing allowance, a COLA, at least partial kids schooling paid for as well as school slot reservations, and a transportation allowance for a car and parking spot. And give us back our legal rights to the tax exemption benefits that every other HKG-based American expat gets. There is no need to link the domiciles tax benefits; they should be country specific.
Also, make the HKG-CAN transportation a separate duty period the day prior to the first leg, and give us options other than the suicide taxi in the middle of the night.

Oops, can't do any of this since pilots don't have any "special skills".

and DON'T BID IT if you don't think the LOA is sufficient for you.

that's the only way there will ever be any enhancements

And if you already bid it it must have been good enough.
