Default FDX- Volcano and Trans-Atlantic flights

Anyone heard if any FedEx transatlantic flights have been affected by the massive airspace closures resulting from the Icelandic volcano eruption? According to news sources many of the pax carriers have cnxd quite a few.

Word from my company's dispatch is: down to 3 tracks flying over Spain/Portugul and the forecast is for the plume to cover most of Germany in the next 24 hours

Absolutely. Everyone else should just call it day and go home when they show up.

A passenger at one of the affected airports said that looked up and he couldn't see any ash.

You know, I'd bet it was either UPS or FedEx who actually "seeded" the earth in order to get that volcano to erupt. Everyone knows that either management would do anything to extract additional work rule concessions.

Frankly, I've very surprised that after 6 or 7 posts in this thread, no one has made the above claim. It's good to see everyone being so mellow.

Ah yes, Chuck Terpentine and his gang of merry men. Righting wrongs, saving boxes and calling in well, when they are sick. Where do we find men of such intestinal fortitude.......why, only in management of course! I for one, am damn glad we have them. Good luck to you. BTW, even though Chuckles was a Tomkitty guy, this might apply. Photos of a Finnish F-18 engine after he got caught in the ash cloud.
