Default Bid Closes Soon!

Time to reset that standing bid to what you really want to fly. And, for all you 600 Bus FOs senior to me, to gain some "relative seniority" in a NB seat. Hey--it makes your commuting a lot easier!

Thumbs down

Isn't the purpose of a practice bid to see where you would be on a bid to somewhat plan your life for the future? Why even have a practice bid if you're going to change it so dramatically between then and the final. You might as well just have a final... no one can plan for the future with the way they are presenting this stuff.

I think we foolishly misinterpreted it to think it was intended for our benefit. As with most everything, it has been manipulated to be used for the company's benefit only.

The question is not will they screw it up. It's how much.

They're at the point now that they don't want to train as many to 727 SO as are on the training letter. They know they will be training many back out before they spend a year in the seat. Some might go from 727 SO to narrow FO then back to MD11 FO HKG inside of 15 months.

FedEx training mantra - Save a few bucks now and spend three times as much later.

FDX seems to work budgeting just like the military. X department has X dollars for X fiscal year. That's it - that's as big as the picture gets. If Joe Schmuck, mangling director of X department can look good and get promoted at the expense of his successor's budget in two years - that's how it's gonna go.
