Jeez guys, stay out of the high school/college joints.

Though my 21st birthday at the Pio was a good time. By that age I was too old to fit in at Rumrunners...

Suite 101, down in the south part of town, has a nice business crowd on Friday's... ya know, normal people that can hold a conversation.

... not bad food either

What? No Simon And Seaforts on this list? Nobody's getting tossed out of there, no body checking, no need for bouncing, the food is good and cheap at Happy Hour, drinks not too spendy, AND you might get a slight chance at seeing whatever limited local talent there is in Anchorage (outside the ABC).

But, they don't serve free cheese. So I can totally understand how some of you foodies wouldn't want to go there.

It might be a little far for the widest of our widebody captains to walk...although it might be shorter than walking through the Taipei airport to the elevator!

What fun is that?

Simon's is awesome, especially during happy hour.

Is this a new place in Des Moines I haven't heard about yet? ;-)

I dunno, Rumrunners is hit or miss. Not sure why, I think it depends on which staff is working at the moment.

I have never been disappointed in McGinleys', probably my first choice. Humpy's is good, if it's not crowded... not so good if it is. And Darwin's is a cheap alternative for those of us without the Purple or Brown payscales.

And if the weather is decent, a walk down to Platinum Jaxx is usually a good choice. If you have wheels, Moose's Tooth is a great place most locals recommend.
