You don't, I suppose. The idea is you are in the biz a while and somebody you know in the biz gets on at UPS, now you have a shot at a recommendation. That's really how it works. Some guys don't like it. Myself, I got on in 1990 when they were taking warm bodies as all the best prospects wanted to work for United, American, and Delta, not Fedex or UPS. I never had a recommendation.

Yes you truly slipped through the cracks in 1990. I think you should just resign now and hold your head up high for doing the right thing.

Cheers D.

HAHA. Did you have a recommendation? I don't remember them doing that back them.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Aviation--commercial, instrument, multi--and am wondering if anyone knows if UPS could lower the total time requirement (PIC multi-turbine 1500hrs). You think UPS would say "Ok here is a driver for 5 years and has 1000 hours SIC turbine, but not 1500 PIC turbine. We can train him". I know its a long shot, but plausible?

I was thinking of using Key Lime Air or Alpine Aviation to log multi-turbine SIC time. Look forward to suggestions! Anyone have UPS chief pilot contact number or mailing address, or email? THANKS!
There are checkairmen here who had less time than you. They started out as ground school instructors, and the only experience they have is flying here. Keep trying, work through the company, not the regular routes. NO ONE KNOWS who will and will not get hired here. Frankly, it is the most screwed up system I have ever seen with our pool.

Good Luck,
