Updated Jumpseat Info FedEx, UPS, DHL

Not sure about UPS in SDF, but with FedEx in MEM, the connection is very simple. You'll ride the crew bus into the AOC with the crew. You'll pass through security again. Then once clear of that, you can head for the cafeteria for a snack, or just re-clear security, get your bags re-tagged and go into the Jumpseat Lounge. Once there, you'll check in again with the jumpseat desk. Then you hang out in the lounge and wait for your flight to be called. You'll meet the crew at the bus and ride out to the airplane. Very simple.
If you've got questions, ask the inbound crew. I'm sure they'd be glad to help you out. They were quite helpful with me.

Oh, and just because the seats are in the back, doesn't make them more comfortable!

UPS is easy too. Go in the ASC with the crew that gave you the ride to SDF, they'll show you where the J/S desk is. Once you've checked in there you can find a place to chill out for a while during the sort, there are a couple of lounges with recliners and big screen TVs or a cafeteria and WiFi internet to help pass the time. Keep an eye on the clock as your flight will not be called. About an hour before scheduled depature time go back to OPS and tell whoever's working the J/S desk that you're looking for the crew for the flight that you're wanting to go on and they'll be happy to help you find them. The above is really about jumping through SDF but the same procedures apply at PHL, RFD and ONT too. Good luck.

After years of commuting I thought any seat was more comfortable than a jumpseat! I really don't care if I sit in the lav, as long as the seat gets me to work on time! Thanks for all the responses!
