To access the UPS jumpseat desk directly, call: (502) 359-1437.

If you are calling on a cell phone and don't need to use the "free" feature of making an (800) call, you can access the same UPS voice menu (VRU) prompts by calling: (502) 359-8849. I forget what my last company's (800) charges were, but I wish it could have gone into my retirement fund!

Good luck.

Nope, sorry, Mr. manager detector. I've just seen enough of aviation to appreciate my job and every parcel that puts shoes on the kids.

I am a dispatcher for RD. I tried listing on FX to go home for a bit, but the person who answered the phone at Jumpseat Admin said that FX doesn't allow dispatchers to ride jumpseat at all. I am in CASS, which is weird, because we allow FX riders all the time on our aircraft, so a recip agreement is there. Could anybody here confirm the policies of OAL dispatcher riders?

Off the subject - I always ask for a backup number that's not toll free - I noticed that many toll free numbers do not work if the call is made outside the US... (which I guess makes sense but is pretty annoying when you're trying to reach crew scheduling... )

I'm going to revive this post a little more. What if you have a connection with Fedex or UPS. How difficult is it and/or what are the procedures for connecting at a hub such as MEM or SDF? Also, on the widebodies (DC-10/MD-11, A-310, etc.), are there seats in the back or do you get stuck up front in the cockpit jump? I've been thinking about taking a cargo carrier into CVG to give me more options on my commute from the West Coast. Thanks in advance!

Not sure about UPS in SDF, but with FedEx in MEM, the connection is very simple. You'll ride the crew bus into the AOC with the crew. You'll pass through security again. Then once clear of that, you can head for the cafeteria for a snack, or just re-clear security, get your bags re-tagged and go into the Jumpseat Lounge. Once there, you'll check in again with the jumpseat desk. Then you hang out in the lounge and wait for your flight to be called. You'll meet the crew at the bus and ride out to the airplane. Very simple.

If you've got questions, ask the inbound crew. I'm sure they'd be glad to help you out. They were quite helpful with me.
