320Driver, Unless they are in the bottom 300 very few here think they will be affected by a massive furlough. I think they will get the chance to see just how much they will be affected.

They parked a bunch of airplanes so the answer is yes we are overstaffed. Any other easy questions?

Thanks, UPS will save their money one way or another. Either a furlough or the MOU that came from the IPA. It is up to us either way. I personally choose to see this as an opportunity to take some much needed time away from UPS who we all complain about endlessly.

You should check out this thread. At least pilots at an Airline that is losing money seem to have the big picture.

Q: Why are we furloughing?

A: Because we can. We also may not be done. Just because you escaped us the first time doesn’t mean you’re out of the woods yet. We still think we can squeeze a few more things out of the union if we scare you bad enough. We’ll get back to you when the time is right for us to maximize the psychological impact of our decision. In the mean time, be sure to tell your family you can’t make any decisions about their futures because you don’t know if you’re going to have a job or not.

I don't think that is the case at all. Have you "burn the place down" guys looked around lately? In case you haven't noticed, we are in the worst recession since the Great Depression.....UPS is not immune.

Disclaimer - Bottom 100 guy.

If a business has 10 different departments. 9 of them are kicking butt and making money hand over fist. 1 may or may not be making money but is trending towards not making money if changes aren't made. Why wouldn't a business owner/manager not want to make expense changes to the 1 division not doing as well?

Before someone calls me weak I will inform you that I have started my own business as a plan B. I am a union hard liner. I am NOT against concessions to our contract. I am about protecting every job on our seniority list. I have given and will give more if it keeps everyone on property. We ALL win if that happens.

PLEASE, everyone in the bottom 300 and the top 2700 please take a deep breath. The bottom 300 are simply scared. They might at times say thing that tick off the top 2700, nothing personal, just raw emotion coming through. The top 2700 gave back not to just help the bottom 300, you did it to help yourselves. We are a UNION. We do stuff in step. If you are tossing mud at your UNION brothers please take a deep breath. UPS loves that we are doing this.

At the risk of ticking some of the top 2700 off,

The bottom 400 gave over 30% of the MOU savings.

I know many of the top 2700 gave, and those people certainly wouldn't be upset with me or anyone else (IPA leadership) for pointing that out now.

To the slugs that couldn't even bother to donate an hour of sick, have fun in ANC, have fun in the right seat-you'll miss flying with your favorite captain

What comes around goes around

What do u mean? The vast majority of savings came from members who would not be furloughed and helped out a fellow IPAer.

How can that possibly make me the bad guy?

Airbum,

What the hay do you think I mean???

Have you watched Andy Murphy's video???

Compared to the bottom 300-400, the top 2700 didn't give rat,

If you're offended by my comments you must not have given much,

You must be feeling guilty,

Anyone in the top 2700 who actually gave is probably embarrassed at their peers for being so lame,

And appearently the IPA leadership feels its time to call out those that didn't give,

As BM said at one of the MOU road shows, "sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade"
