So UPS values and wants it too? What is the $ value of that flexibility? Remember they pay for hot standby airplanes and crews all year long to sit around most of the time. Is not having to pay for displacement moving packages and retraining part of the cost savings numbers too? I am all for voting.

400 furloughs for an airline that is way understaffed.
The loads are full. The JA and MEF is way up.
The number's do not add up.

2 weeks ago, mngrs are talking about hiring 300.
Are you being sarcastic or did we not watch the same video?

Notadog- No unemployment concerns where I'm at. I think your guess on a vote is off. The QOL issues for most would be impacted too much if even half the number go. ONE RDG seems reasonable. We'll see. You were going to vote to help the furloughees with heathcare costs, right? Oh, you're in the NO category there too. I hope they can find a few YES votes to cancel yours out...

How did you come to that conclusion? Of course I would be for paying healthcare costs and I am guessing at least 99% of the pilot group would be for that. I would even support a hefty dues assessment to supplement unemployment if you can believe that. I just don't understand why we are giving back to the company while they still are making money. I have no problem at all with helping out a fellow crew member. As you can tell many of us don't trust UPS at their word and one day I you might just end up in those ranks too. I would suggest you not be so quick to draw conclusions. The only strength around this place is unity, which is missing right now.

767Pilot-

You guys built this place. We get it. Thank you.

No concessions average joe? Really. It's 2009 and the 2006 contract isn't ironed out. Isn't that concession enough for us all? How much savings came from there?

The bottom 400 or so came here for our last jobs and a real career. Get it?

Didn't work out for now, we get it.

Luckily, UPS underhired and started late- so you got to fly all you wanted when it was good for an extra 2 years at least, and less of us are here now to get F'd. They'll bring us back slowly and the same will happen again...

Sure, any changes past voluntary have to go to a vote... Is that news?

Bottom 100.

Already have 2 other jobs.

This is where I have a problem. It is not a give back to the company. The MOU was an IPA idea. We are overstaffed and UPS is going to save the money one way or another. They can furlough or if we meet the MOU goals we can all take some much needed time away from work. Watch the video, UPS will save much more money than they will by continuing the MOU. There are other reasons they like the MOU but it doesn't save them more money then if they furloughed.

So when UPS says jump the appropriate IPA response should always be how high? What a limp attitude.

UPS asked for us to take a paycut. The IPA rightly told them to pound sand. I have a question. Do you think we are overstaffed or is it a UPS conspiracy?

I think you are wrong, but who knows?

I will not ever vote to modify (reduce) our pay rates, guarantee, or benefits as long as our employer is putting profits in the bank. I will be glad to reach in my pocket to voluntarily help keep furloughed member's health care costs paid for a reasonable period of time.
