I am really tired of this crap. Let them furlough. Maybe this place will be better in 5 years when we get called back.

Speak for yourself but if 400 get furloughed, it will be more than 5 years before they are all back. You can always just quit if you want.....LOL!

Just because someone makes sense that's no ground to tell them quit thier job. Maybe somebody should grow some ba..s and stick it to these guys. So let me get this straight freightpuppy, As long as ups is threating furloughs you're willing to work half price. I hope you say no because otherwise i'm glad there aren't 3000 of you working here.Boyyyyyyyyyyy we would be in a world of hurt.

no, I don't want to quit, but a little certainty would be nice. Yes, I know, that is too much to expect in this industry.

Its not working at half price, it is working half the time. Big Difference.

If you worked 40 hrs a week at 20 dollars an hour and now you're forced to do the same thing at 20 hrs a week you're working for half the money no matter how u look at it.

I took a pay period off this summer and I am doing it again in 09-07. I did not work at all. I was paid vacation and the companies portion of sick leave. To sum up 0 hours worked and income came in. I am receiving half the money but I am not working for it.

I've posted this before. Most pilots at UPS will have between 25-35 years at the company before they retire. Here is the opportunity to take a few months off sometime over the next 2 years. This is a huge benefit to me and I am looking forward to next 2 summers also. It is like being in school again with summer vacation.

if i were running for prez and wanted to "buy" the bottom 400+ votes i would say uncle brown is going to furlough 1000 or more. i would even say if you sign up for another serving of the tasty mou- it would save you- but dont forget to vote for me- or 985 of you all +-

hehe... heck you might even try an underhanded deal whereby you try to bribe a contender with a position in your new administration if they quit. Barring that, you might even consider publicly disclosing a contender's confidential questionnaire. Better yet, get in cahoots with another sleazy board member and have him commit political suicide by lobbing a loaded question at your opponent during a recorded debate. Just think... the fun possibilities never end.
