Or not talk about anything lest we tip our hand to the man.

I thought the block display was available after the captains award so that you could change your bid to avoid flying with someone. That was in lieu of the "negative captains" list we used to have. still think its a good idea and hopefully this is just a one month glitch.

Surely you remember a certain ACP who was posting. Then there was the famous "Flame On!"

What gets on here makes it's way around

I believe that having the Capts bid awarded the day before F/Os and S/Os took the place of the "negative airman" list.

Maybe I'm missing something here...But, unless you have an enormous amount of guys that you can't stand to fly with, you can just look at the few on your list, see what they held and adjust your bid accordingly.

The block display trick was really no more accurate than a practice bid. Well, maybe a bit more accurate. I don't think they have ever cancelled a monthly bid.

Accuracy of the block display was a sliding scale from very accurate to pretty good guess depending on your seniority. It is not something that is life changing but it did provide a warm fuzzy on "did I bid enough lines".

Usually I spend a lot of time on my first 20 choices, not so much on my next 20. In a normal month it works great. For a Thanksgiving month that was not a great plan. Had the block display worked I would have caught it. Again not a big deal, but it was a nice deal, and it don't cost nothing. To bad its gone.

Simply another case of taking something away from us which we liked to use... "anything that might help us out, must be stamped out!" the floggings will continue until morale improves...
