FEDEX vs UPS
Sorry all. I guess my first post offended the UPS guys.
So let me ask you this, what will UPS do to compete with our new 777 service? I see this as checkmate, since it will literally take years for UPS to get a 777 program up and running. They like to copy everything we do here, but we'll be cherry picking customers that need next day service to the US for years.
Personally, I love it!

I'm glad to see you're man enough to apologize.
Uhhh....I think UPS will probably survive this. Maybe they'll just open up their checkbook, write a check and buy us.

They'll threaten key Congressional types with photos of them with farm animals and Fred will have Teamsters on his hands, he'll cancel the 777 order (assuming he's a man of his "word") and you'll furlough.
You'd love that too I suppose.

Instead of comparing one airline's fleet against another's, maybe you should try to compare balance sheets instead? I wonder if FedEx is paying cash for their 777's or if they are leveraging themselves.

i think your post offended everyone, brown, purple, and everyone else. i'd hate to see my ups friends on the street and i'm sure they feel the same about us. thanks for the apology though.
i think these days labor vs. management is a much more important question the brown vs. purple

The big question is does UPS need 777's to compete with FedEx? My guess is no.

I am not comparing fleets, but comparing service. Service that FedEx can make but UPS can't.
Checkmate!

What a sexist thing to say. I hope your man enough to apologize to all the chick pilots who may or may not have been offended by your patronizing and prejudical gender stereotyping.

You think FEDEX cannot afford to buy airplanes? Wow!

That's the problem with pilots making business decisions...their thinking stops at the crew door of the airplane, and hence perhaps one of the differences in balance sheets. Check.
