Cliff,

Non-sched pilots tend to adapt. And since STN is gone as a crew base, it would be closer to 18/12.

Hi!

Yeah, one guy called and asked me about the schedule...I was thinking, "Hmmmm, strange word, this "Schedule"....I don't understand the question." They someone else asked about "Days Off". I will try googling that to see what it means!

I know 5 guys between the 2 "regionals" I've worked at that went to Atlas. 2 hired around the 2005-6 timeframe, 3 later on. Funny, NONE of them had any problem what so ever with the schedule.

The ONLY reason 3 of them are not longer there is one went to work for a foreign carrier, the other 2 were furloughed.

In the 20 years I've been working on aircraft, as a flight mechanic, MX in every form I've learned a few things...from the outside looking in, this is the key to working in the airlines and moving up to a Major:
- Dont be an ***-hole
- you can do it from any background
- Dont be that guy with "the top gun shades and attitude"
- Dont be a drunk
- Dont be a 'hater'. If someone else gets on somewhere, dont be a little whiny ***** about it.
- Dont be a backstabber
- Do be the guy that asks for help when you dont know, and offer the help un-condescendingly when you do
- DONT BE AN ***-HOLE

Pretty much works in any business

I think the topic of the thread is the chance of a currently employed pilot with Brand X, a cargo carrier being hired by UPS.

I don't know about now but, 10 years ago and prior to that, UPS would not hire Ryan pilots. I don't remember why, but it was a well circulated rumor.

Not true. I can think of two people hired in that time period that came from Ryan. Challenge ws a particular situation, but beyond that why would UPS limit their pool when searching for the best candidates? It makes no sense

I was hired from Atlas in '07. UPS loved that I had heavy time. One other Atlas guy in my class also.
