Default FDX/Vacation and carry over

Two questions I could not figure out from reading contract:

1) Will the computer let you slide a vacation in the new month to within the 48 hour buffer of a carryover trip, not to knock out the trip but just to uncover a trip later in the new month?

2) If a trip in the new month conflicts with a carryover and also is inside the footprint of a vacation period, do you lose the trip because of CIC or by the vacation?

Default Talk to Futures

I can't answer your questions, but I can recommend you call your respective Futures Scheduler. This is a good time (of the bid month) to call; don't wait until next week when they start getting jammed up with phone calls re: Why didn't I get awarded this line?, Conflict Input Window or View/Add time. I had a question about what was processed first, vacation slide requests, or training bid inputs, and called G.H., who was very helpful and talked me through the "sequence of events" that the software goes through in processing requests. [BTW, if I remember correctly, I was told all vacation actions take place first, since they are of highest priority. After that, carry-in conflict (CIC), training bid, etc.] Good luck.

Concur!! Call your Futures scheduler because both questions are complicated, especially #2.

I do know that only one trip will be a vacation event and the other will be dropped, but can't say which one and don't know if the dropped trip qualifies for CIC. And for line holders, the vacation buffers cannot be waived.

#2: The trip is knocked out via CIC, not vacation (personal experience). The company does not "double dip" vacation, i.e., take both trips and charge your bank.

From flight planning:

1. The slide will not allow you to touch the 48hr
buffer if it is an international buffer. There
is not a 48hr vacation buffer on regular lines.
2. The trip in the new month would be removed cic.
