FDX Reserve Lines!!!!!!!
42 MD-11 Reseve F/O lines......in November????????? I predict utilization rates upwards of 90%. At least they'll drop a day.....Oh, nevermind.
Expect lots of draft. And for those who believe that the root of UNION is UNITY.....Enjoy the 60-63 hours of pay.

Hope that H1N1 virus doesn't become an epidemic during these next 2 months. Having read the recent FCIF, I certainly wouldn't want to spread any germs around, nor have someone else do the same. Or course, I might be confusing this with the 4a2b virus. Either way...DON'T FLY SICK!!!!

I tried to trade 2 trips with open time last night for a couple of xtra added trips and of course, got the dreaded "insufficient reserves" tag.
I called the scheduler and he was very nice and cooperative and he told me that on my trip next week on one of my days they were already at -1 and my other trip later in the month was already at 0. I told him I thought we were over manned. He said that he had no more reserves left last night and has no more for today and had been calling (R1200RT obviously...) for draft.
After further review..... the guys that got the trips are flying them extra and at straight time and are banking 130 hrs for the month of Oct.
I don't think this group will ever learn. Some of us "just say no" but there's a guy w/i 20 numbers of you that can only say "YES! YES! YES!"

Hey it is their make up bank, they dropped all the trips and who are youse guys to tell them how they can make it up, blah blah blah.
Those of you guys who see nothing wrong with C/O check the 140 hour a month club's schedules. Again I don't want to cap anything. But make the C/O guys work for their pieces of silver and this problem will be (largely) self correcting.

Right now C/O entitles you to CIC:
You get to cherry pick open time before all others enabling you to book a 140 hour month as pain free as possible.
Right now with C/O you are entitled to Reserve leveling for you C/O trip:
So you have a 40 hour C/O line, what do you do? Why not bid reserve next month and gain 30-40 hours of CIC to cherry pick lines. Not only that you gain 40 hours of leveling so some shlup gets to fly your reserve trips until he catches up.
Ever wonder why the C/O reserve lines tend to always overlap? It allows the company to get a lot more straight time trips with out using reserves or draft thanks to CIC. Get rid of CIC and let the guys who want to fly 140 hour months bid for open time on thursday night like the rest of us.

A300 draft call
I just received a call for draft on the bus. I politely declined. No draft here until 4a2b is gone. My BLG is one of the lower ones in the bid pack and I sure could use the cash, but I am standing firm. It is frustrating that so my of my brothers are willing to undermine the greater cause for a short term gain. My stand may be in vain with so many selfish members, but I see the big picture. Knowing I am not part of the problem is worth draft pay any day in my book. Sadly, I feel I'm in the minority.
