Which has what to do with warning employees in writing that they will be held responsible for their non-rev behavior? Also, I have seen a few of our pilots who should be let go, based on their behavior while interacting with various outside businesses, like hotels and airlines.

...If it makes y'all feel any better, I don't think we at big brown even get those passes (at least I don't think we do?)...
Like I said, I'm not sure as I've never used those passes myself but either way, that's not what this thread is about. I was simply hoping y'all get those passes reinstated soon.

Here's the deal.
Fred and Co. love the WN passes. It's a "perk" that they can offer at no cost to them, and it helps them fill the hubs with low-cost, unskilled labor.
WN doesn't mind. It falls into their program as well. It "creates" a market. This has always been part of the Southwest formula. The FX OAK hubbites and their like are a bunch of people who wouldn't have flown much without this perceived "good deal". They're in seats that would've gone empty anyway.
The fares that WN charges the FX employees are about double what they charge the other airlines. UA pays about $28/leg after taxes. FX employees pay $54/leg after taxes. Guess what? The FX employee is paying more than some of the "regular" pax -- who are not traveling standby.
So, in the end, the program will come back. It benefits the companies more than it does the employees, therefore it will be embraced by management.
My only real concern in this whole thing -- how long until I run into the first WN agent that doesn't understand that this is a pass ban and not a jumpseat ban. It's gonna happen (probably on the last flight home after 10 days).

And I've heard stories of UPS Airline employees getting discount on fedex shipping. I do miss the employee shipping discount from my days at FDX.

UPS Airline employees do get the pass privileges on SWA, same $25 each way I think FedEx has(had). SWA is one of 3 or 4 carriers that offer us discounts. And I think it's only the airline employees, the ground side may not have access to pass privileges.

As far as FDX shipping discount - I've been trying for 3 years, always with a smile and they've always been very friendly to me but each time the answer was a big brown NO... I don't blame them as we don't do it for them either, but I'm with you, I too miss their awesome airline employee discount.
PS. I know some folks here will ask their friends who work for FDX or other airlines to ship their stuff, or so I've heard. Either way, it's no big deal, FDX saved me tons of money at my previous gig and I'll always be grateful to our Fuchsia brothers & sisters.

If your friend gets the discount please ask him/her to share how? I've tried to ship from BNA, MEM and LAX on different occations and each time the answer was "you guys aren't in our system, sorry." Again, I don't blame FDX - why should you? We don't reciprocate...
