FDX...Wilson Poll Question
Just did the Wilson poll. One question intrigued me. Rank, 1 to 5, the importance of "seniority based", open time pick up assignments (or something to that affect). I guess it would work like this. When the next days trips are put in open time, pilots would be free from 7-10 to put in the trade and makeup requests and then at 10, they would be assigned by seniority vice time. That way, the very senior guys who get all the best trips and protect their carry over, could grab more good deals without the need to interrupt their beauty sleep. I picture FH rolling out of the sack at 9:30, throwing on his silk kimono, climbing on his new aquisition from The Scooter Store and racing to the computer to get his high seniority wishes in.
Needless to say, I gave it a 1 (lowest) on the next contract wish list. One wonders how this came up and who wants it? No wait.........I think I know.

Just one more method for the geriatric bunch to give it to us up the *** again!*? I vote NO WAY JOSE ... No more for the "I've got mine" crowd.

I just did the Wilson Poll as well and yes, that was the question. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I just laughed and immediately assigned it a "1" of importance simply because "0" wasn't an option. What idiot/s actually proposed to assign open time trips by seniority? The senior people already get the best trips, vacation, pay, etc. But to give them first pick of open time as well erases the ONLY chance a junior person has of picking up a decent trip. It's absurd. Why don't we instead change the question to read: "Should pilots who are physically fit have priority in picking up open time?" Pilots who are obese, have guts touching the yoke or need a seatbelt extender will be allowed to sift through the scraps of open time, if there is any left. Seniority based open time? Give me a break.
