Everyone should pause, take a deep breath and look around. We are all still working while there is a 10% unemployment rate. Any pilot who has been working here for less than 5 years should be counting his lucky stars because if he was at almost any other company in the United States he/she would have had his pink slip a long time ago. Other companies don't cut executive pay to keep the junior guys around. They look at the bottom line, figure out how many have to go, and issue the pink slips. No emotion involved, just a business decision.

Pi$$ing and moaning on a public forum accomplishes nothing positive.

Yes. It's sad that we just can't seem to get rid of some of the old things left over from before union representation.

Regarding the monthly cap on flying.
Has anyone thought that it may be good to have a cap while we're BELOW 68 BLG (min BLG). When we're above min BLG - the cap goes away. That way when things are good - you can fly your ass off, chase momma, fish, ski, etc... - pick up all the open time you want with max carryover.

Everyone has some excuse why they need the extra flying. Whether it's a roof, hookers, kids in college, braces, 5th divorce, 4th ex-wife, momma needs new boobs, hair transplant, car crash... and the list could go on. There are guys who parents have cancer, who are fighting for their kids (custody)... that aren't picking up open time and that's far more expensive than a roof or braces

Default We're screwed

And this , Ladies and gentlemen(I use that term loosely), is the reason we are screwed for our next contract negotiations. Not only can't we agree on one little part of the contract, but insults are being hurled. If we are going to succeed in negotiations, we need to take the emotion out of it and realize that we are not going to get everything we want. It's just business and not personal. It's not to soon to start.

And my business acumen says that capping our earning potential is a dumb move.

Also, whether it's for a roof, braces or whatever, using your makeup bank does not make you a bad guy.

And does that same acumen say it would be better to furlough the bottom 300-800 so earning potential will be higher for the ones that survive?

If there's only one trip in open time and it happens to be a DP, do you still pick it up to help those earnings? Does flying a DP make you a bad guy?

Confucious say, not one of us is as dumb as all of us.

So now, because I disagree with the famous APC club, I'm a DP flyer now. Uh, no, I'm not and never have flown one. As for furloughing, I'm glad we have 4a2b because I don't want to see anyone on the street. Is that clear enough for you? What's your next accusation, I must be a scab now right? Some of you are plain and simple f'ing tools.

Also, it's makeup time, not draft or volunteer. Those makeup hours are ones I dropped for one reason or another. If I choose to recapture those hours, then how is that so wrong??

I can't believe how f'ed up some of you guys are by twisting and turning every little word that's posted on this site for your own twisted views of how pilot life should be at FDX. Everyone's life is different at FDX.

Maybe there was a post deleted or something. Did he say either of these two examples?

You guys are worse than the news media about putting words in someone's mouth. If I want to burn my make up bank, it is none of your socialistic business, period. Next, thing you know, you'll have to get permission from APC to call in sick. This is a ridiculous line of thinking. Fly you own line, I'll fly mine. (And that has nothing to do with DP's or furloughs)

Oh really? So, you fly sick then? Or do you just abuse sick leave?

I see that you also think its ok to cop a feel off someone else's wife.
