I'm obsessed with anyone who flies a widebody around the world but doesn't know the difference between roll and role.

Was just reading the first 3 pages and opted to skip the rest and reply about a cap and bank.....just a small point to make..

How many of you want to max out your high five so that you get max A-Plan monies? I'm guessing everyone.

If you were to fly a regular schedule (not 4a2b schedule) you would not be able to do that at 15 yr WB Capt rates....

We may be able to in the future as our pay rates will increase to cover the Max $260K your can earn on the A-Plan but sould that max not also incease also?

Just food for thought....YMMV

Again, it depends on the cap.

A cap of 80/105 gets you there nicely.

Just more food for thought.

And the downside of not maxing out my A-plan would be what?

More time at home, maybe budgeting for a bit less than the max isn't that bad of a plan.

Probably best to plan on self-financing your retirement. Of course, means having to live within your limits.

Having to fly till your 65 because tou didn't plan properly for your retirement???

Mark

PS ... I strongly support the cap and bank idea (and I wonder if it might make more ND's go away?)

I think a Cap in today's 4 2b or not 2b may be advisable. I don't think though we should change things based on this blip on the screen for our long term future. I'm very junior, but would one day like the ability to work when I want and how hard based on the current contract with carryover and the perks of seniority. I was at American and I don't recall many guys enjoying the caps or bank. We enjoy a freedom during good times here that most others do not in scheduling. We may need to adjust for this storm, but the weather will change again to brighter skies.

So you like the privilege of working over time for straight time pay? Carryover is unbelievably foolish on our part. A guy does a 130-140 hour month at straight time and thinks he really "made out". What a bunch of morons we are. Oh well.

In the case of carryover we are certainly getting what we deserve. Act like idiots - get treated like idiots.
