Default Frozen Cargo

Do FedEx and UPS planes have a special section to accommodate cargo/goods that have to remain frozen? Or do these things have to get to you already packaged up with dry ice?

What special requirements if shipping, let's say, 30,000 pounds of frozen strawberries to Japan?

Option 2, and there are limits to the amount of dry ice we carry and where its loaded!

Frozen strawberries are going to go by ship in a freezer container. There is no hurry. Fresh fruit often goes to Japan on the cargo decks with little need for very low temps. Flowers go in sealed boxes and the temperature of the zone can be kept low, but not frozen. Fish or other freshly killed fauna may be packed in insulated caskets with ice or dry ice. Ideally you don't want to freeze it, and the zone is kept to around 40F. There is a limit to dry ice, because it produces CO2 gas, that varies by aircraft.
