Default FDX-excessed and relocating

Since so many of us are having to relocate under the excess, I thought maybe we could share some info. Maybe certain company folks that are good to deal with or not. Has anyone had success with the third party home purchase program? I know the company pays the movers, but do we get to pick or them? Anyway any info will help, if not me someone else. thanks in advance for any relevant posts. I have already read the CBA, looking for specifics.

I just moved under package #1. All in all I made out well. The company home purchase offer was about six percent below what I thought my house was worth. However, I sold my house myself and got a two percent bonus from the company. They selected the movers and the movers did a good job. They pack load ship and unpack for you. My cars were shipped and one took about two weeks, the other took a month. They pay closing on the house you sell and buy.

I am knee-deep in the process right now. So far, I am less than impressed. The company hands you off to a relocation company and they handle the details of your home sale. The relocation company tries to convince you they are your best friends and they are nice enough, but they work for and get paid by the company, they may or may not have your best interest as priorities. The relocation company has been very aggressive with pressuring the realtor and me and on two ocassions their representative has stretched the truth with statements made concerning their conversations with the realtor and their assessment of the current market.

We'll see what the buy-out offer looks like.

PM me if you want more details.

Hope this doesn't turn into another 'Sorry I took a job at UPS flying" threads.

Seriously, glad it worked out for you though. Hoping I don't get moved.

Purple Promise.
