The thing I didn't know was that if your carryover trip ends 8 days into the new month all the expenses associated with it can be slid into the previous month even if they were incurred on say the 9th or 10th day of the new bid month.

To the best of my knowledge, NO they can not. Only expenses within 72 hours of +/- bid month start/end may be slid.

Almost any c/o expense can be slid.

Carryover Trips – the expense transaction or airline ticket date must fall within 3 days of the end of a scheduled carryover assignment from which the crewmember is deviating. NOTE: All expenses related to a carryover pairing can only be slid back to the bid month where the pairing began. No expenses can be slid from the beginning month forward, unless the expenses meet the 3 day rule concerning occurrence within 3 days of the end/beginning of a bid month. (e.g., Trip begins on 29JAN08 and ends on 10FEB08. Any expenses that occur within 3 days of 10FEB08 can be slid back to JAN08. Only if the expenses for 29JAN08 occur within 3 days of the end of the JAN08 bid month could they be slid forward to FEB08)

Lucky's got it right.

From the help section on FOX, "Airline" tab help page:

Question so...

...what if you had a carryover trip that ended on the first day of the new bid month (say August 3rd) and then two 1 day pairings following that (finish in Memphis at 11pm LBT on the 5th)...

...could you then book a deadhead from Memphis to your home on the 6th and tie it to that carryover trip that ended on the 3rd (using leftover bank from July bid month?) Even though you had two trips in-between?

just wondering

Let me try and make it as simple as I can, with the caveat that this was the way it was 2 years ago during the previous regime.... You can never move the money but you can move the deviation. In a nutshell, if you have a deadhead on the last day of the month you can deviate within 3 days of that deadhead and charge it to the original trip. Or if you have a trip the second day of the new bid month you can deviate on the Sunday prior and charge it to the next month..Clear as mud??
