FDX-Multi-leg deadheads

Not sure if that's true. The system will allow you to cancel what portion you want. I seem to remember an FCIF on this that specifically mentioned that all segments are cancelled but then Global Travel rebooks the uncancelled portions but it's up to us to make sure they are still in the system. Anyone else?
That being said, a previous CP (Jack) said they would take an "enlightened" view of this situation and treat it as if you were not deviating. Don't know the current administrations view on this, but Sceduling's view is clear. "Deviate One, Deviate All"

You can however, only cancel one leg. In other words, you can still keep the second leg as a ticket, but, even though it is the regularly scheduled leg, you are flying with the other non-deviating crew on the same aircraft, you are deviating on that leg and are responsible for any delays / cancels etc. That is the strict interpretaion of the contract and has bitten more than one guy, myself included.
Who would you cancel that one (first) leg with? Global Travel or the Airline itself? Would you let the company book the ticket, call and cancel the first leg, then deviate? (If living in the middle city of a DH.) How would you proceed?

There's really no way around it -- deviate one, deviate all. This is DEFINITELY something we need to get fixed in the next contract. I live near a major metro city where we often transit for the second leg on our company DH's and it makes no sense for me to deviate the first MEM-? leg and loose the second leg and, MOST IMPORTANTLY in alot of cases, then loose the all critical ground transpo associated with the DH ticket.
What I have done in the past is deviated with the company and then immediately call the GT vendor and say, "I'm still on the original flight with the original flight time." Sometimes it works, sometimes the other crew member is not deviating or is from MEM, and sometimes you're just out of luck.
Remember also Jake that you cannot "undeviate" and also once you deviate from a trip you can now no longer trip trade that trip so you're stuck with it.
My technique is to book the flight I want as early as possible through Global Travel then deviate at the last minute.

You can deviate on domestic trips and still trade and drop them. Intn'l trips are another animal. If you deviate on an intn'l trip you're stuck with it,

From the CBA:

For purposes of this paragraph, an international deadhead shall be a deadhead that originates or terminates in a location outside the contiguous 48 United States, Canada or Mexico.
