Default No single block R lines

Why are there no single block R lines? I mean it is bad enought that R days are worth less than 4 hours, but this is the first time in my time here at fedex that there are no single block R lines!

Think about it. What's in a single block of R days?

The potential for a one in 7 if they let you sit the entire time. With blocks of 5 and 6 day's, the productivity numbers are up, without having to let you off for a required rest period on their time.

Like the mem-west coast pairings. Bust 8/24 intentionally then let you eat the extra crew rest requirements on your day off.

Where's the PSIT when you need them?

Oh... they're locked out.

Well said jagplt -- we need the PSIT back in the process!

And a lot of the Bus R lines have exactly 9 days so when you get your 1 in 7 in the field, you can have your 1 in 10 on your own time. Optimized reserve! I think this month (insufficient reserves) was the experiment and August Sodimized Rdays in full gear!

Are you paranoid if the REALLY ARE out to get you !*?

This philosophy might bite them in the rear? 6-9 day R periods won't cover many of the MD trips?

The company put out 20 more VTO lines that will end up being reserve lines. Maybe next month there will be zero reserve lines and all VTO lines. That way the company can build reserve lines and not give folks the chance to plan their lives with their family. I wonder if sick leave and fatigue calls are going up, if not now, then it will come this fall when folks are tired.

Just a thought....

Maybe they want folks to get exhausted right now, in the summer, and use up their sick time before peak.

Just don't call in sick for all of your R days...like I did a few months ago. Learned a valuable lesson with that one! Make sure you sit at least one or two . Good luck guys, going on extended mil leave for the next 7 months, hopefully longer.
