UPS - How do I bid an RDG line?
The next bid period is one of my awarded RDG periods but I can't figure out which lines are the RDG lines? (ONT)
Will there be a separate bid packet for us? Confused...
Too late to call the union and I figured the almighty APCers would have an answer...

You bid the lines that are shown as RDG in the bid pack...Block bid them all, ie for the Z F/O it's 300=318. Those are 19 RDG lines for 19 available RDGs per the MOU for 09-05. Then you will bid the specific RDG lines during the VTO bid process. If you've never bid a VTO it is a bit different than regular line bidding.

It looks like they didn't differentiate between RDG, RDG A and RDG B in the bid packets. I'm thinking that the subsequent RDG VTO lines will be more specific (ie. credit hours). That way the RDG A & B folks will know which lines are theirs to bid.

I think the people bidding RDG A and B will be able to bid any RDG line. They might get less than the value for a A or B line. That's why they can't bid those every month because then on other months they have to "make up" the time by doing 75. Every month they get a steady paycheck of 65 or whatever hours. I probably am not making any sense but I think they can bid any line and then they make up the time other months. I could be wrong because I didn't bid those. Can anyone confrirm?

If you were awarded RDG and you get a RDG line worth 40 hours, you will be paid 40 hours in that pay period. If you have the same line but were awarded RDG A, you will be paid 55 hours in that pay period but you will "owe" the company 15 hours in the following pay period.
If you have the same 40 hour line but you were awarded RDG B, you will be paid 65 hours that pay period but you will owe the 25 hour difference (in the form of a pay reduction) over the next two pay periods.
There is no difference in any of the RDG lines. The only difference is in how you will be paid.
