Brrrrrrt. Or, maybe it was PffffffT!

Regardless, it didn't come from anyone's mouth.
That's when you tell 'em that their voice has changed, but their breath hasn't.

For the FedEx crowd --

VEBA is not just for those retiring in the next 5 years, it's for everyone. That's why every pilot on the property needs to contribute.

(Fact- It was only for those age 53 or older when the CBA was signed)

The $25K HRA was only for those age 53 by JAN 01, 2007.

VEBA was/is for every pilot on the property.

I'm not saying that's fair. I'm just trying to straighten out your facts.

Default Sounded stupid at the time

Shortly after the Delta/Western merger was announced, we shared a van with a WAL crew and their Captain warned: "Watch out for Grinstein. He thinks that mainline shouldn't operate anything smaller than a 757."
We thought that was absurd --- then.

Thanks for the clarification.

VEBA is taking from the poor to give to the rich. Those that retire soon only had to pay in a couple of years to get the benefit.

New guys will pay in for 20+ yrs to get the same benefit, if it's still there. Does this qualify as hidden money? Sounds like the social security ponzi scheme to me.

Thank you BC.

He didn't say which ten years did he? He may have just been a little early in his prediction.

My only question is how he knew ALPA would sell us out on age 60 7 years ago.
