Getting back to the topic.....
4a2b will be in effect until the company has more flying for us. Plain and simple. They would prefer us all to be flying above min BLG at straight pay, it is the most cost effective for Fedex.
This clause is a fantastic cost cutting measure from their point of view and because of the vagueness, can be used as needed. My fear is that our traditional manning model may be a thing of the past. There is nothing to stop us flying above min BLG at peak and then dropping back into 4a2b in the slow summer to "prevent" the f word each year. Lots of companies hire and fire seasonally. Fedex could keep the manning high enough for no or little draft/volunteer at peak and the 4a2b us off peak.
It could go on until we can fix things in the next contract.

Always nice to hear from an dear old friend. I am a lot more worried about your health, at your age. Most of the sudden deaths at FDX have been in the late 40s, early 50s age range. When is the last time you ran five miles, four miles, one mile? OK, walked 1/2 a mile? You must realize it shows.
