Apparently it is a venue for some people to complain about the actions or lack of actions by some others. You all need to take a breath on move on with your lives. The furlough was avoided. That should have been the end of it. But many of you continue to complain. You all must be "fun" to be around. Glad I'm not in the SDF sort anymore listening to you guys and gals complaining about how terrible your jobs are and how UPS screws you over. Bunch of miserable pilots complaining about how they still have a job. What a joke.

A bit of buyer's remorse, which always happens with every "purchase" however attractive at the time. Also as in any endeavor such as this, some resentment that many who were "capable" did not participate, with a smattering of uncertainty and angst.
Many of the last minute contributions by many were at least partially "panic" driven, and the elation of the program's at least temporary success quickly faded and were replaced with fiscal angst. As has been pointed out, even though second year types here make more than 7-8 year types did in the last contract, they got in the hole in the first pathetic year here...wait a minute, so did all of us, but what place do facts have in this issue?
As for the resentment that many didn't contribute, I am onboard with that BIG time. I do know of a very few who are getting raped in divorces, or have special needs kids and/or elder situations, but they are in the minority.
But it is time to move on...

What p... me off is our union leader giving them as much credit as he does you and i and we cut our pay and sick to almost half. Even to this day they are walking around and calling the one that gave IDIOTS which i witnesses and almost lost my cool. This is not a typical voting as to say well they didn't paticipate and we still won this was about saving careers and families. I cut cost around my home and family vacation and little things the kids want so another crewmember can have the same and for our leader to give equal credit to non givers just gives me heart burn, Well it must be a class of 88 thing. I"M DOOOOONE>

There is none. Just a wine and cheese session.
My complaint is no Job Share awarded this year. My partner and I were actually looking forward to a part-time job with full-time benefits.
And they approved ours from 10-01 and beyond ? during peak ? Go figure !
Looking forward to it so much that it will probably be cancelled knowing my luck !

Sideshow (and all others),
Be careful how you use the list. Not only does it Not show sick, but also does not show mil leaves. Just my 2 cents as a mil leave guy.
Cheers

I'm having the opposite of buyer's remorse. I signed up for RDG and did not get it, in addition to mil leave. They way I look at is is that I have a month's worth of pay that I was not expecting. And it's not like I'll have to work for it bidding reserve.

This thread and many others like it on this subject are very upsetting. Faced with a furlough, our union leadership came up with a plan. A MAJORITY of our union pitched in and thankfully ... UPS bought into it also! Regardless of what would have cost the company more, they are currently in support of it. I don't hear many guys saying, well this current contract isn't my contract - who voted yes/no?!?! (remember, our last one past by what, 4-6%). I don't see guys slamming the 46% that voted NO. Are the "NO" voters "non-supporters" of our union? This is OUR contract and we live under it.
IMO, same applies with this furlough MOU. We've given our support or "vote" (if you will), large, small or none to this point. IT PASSED. Let's get behind this current wave and drum up even more support for next round, including those that didn't give support in the first wave. I feel the more upbeat and positive we are, the better chances of gaining even a larger amount of support next time ... WE are most likely going to need it. We are all lucky, both senior and junior that this MOU passed. Quit throwing the mud around and please quit whining, it doesn't bode well. We are not going to find much sympathy outside our pilot group.
