MEM HTL STBYS at HOME ???
#42
A Little perspective here, 5 years ago, R-24s were getting called out for MEM STHOTL from R-24 (I may have been one of them) and we were not permitted to stay at home. I had a crashpad closer than the hotel (Doubletree Poplar) and was told I could not stay at my crashpad. I asked if I could take my personal vehicle to the hotel and drive in to AOC if called in, they said no.
IMHO, if you get a STHOTL in MEM, enjoy it. Do the movie star thing and have the family stay with you. I think we should enjoy the benefits the CBA affords us...

But how do they prohibit you from driving to the AOC in your personal vehicle? How would they know? Why would they care?
I don't think they provide transportation from your home or the AOC to the Doubletree or back to the doubletree to get your car if launched off hotel standby. The GT restriction was the scheduler winging it. They love to say no and you gave them another opportunity.

What??? If I am assisgned a hotel standby period and I can get to the hub in 30 minutes or less and I accept the responsibility, how the h3ll is O helping me out by making me stand it from home. I've never missed a call out while doing this. Why should I get lumped into the same pile as the guy who did? And how is it undermining the contract if I ask CRS to stand it from home and they agree. Once again we are our own worst enemies..... You ever heard of the " Crab syndrome?" If you throw a bunch of cabs in a pot to boil, if they see one of their buds getting out of the pot they'll actually grab him and drag him back in with the rest. Hello fellow crabs.......
