Roberto, you always seem to have a firm grasp on things. Have you been able to calculate what 2.9 million in '09 and 7.1 million in '10 (or whatever the numbers were) equates to in early retirements? I guess it depends on how young/old they are, but it would be interesting to see how much a 60 year old costs!!!!

Purple is learning from Brown

Who said that participants/non-participants are to be identified?

We may never know the answer. But I bet it's less than 10. Just look at the old DC8 FE list, Fly till you Die.

I see where you are coming from (besides the QOL thing) but we do not look like fools. Those that did nothing will try to say that they knew the company would not furlough regardless. Well, I don't believe that is true. I think if only the original 300 or so volunteered, furlough letters would have gone out last week. Plus, even if we look like fools in front of the Independent Pilots, do you really care? I for one don't care what a selfish greedy jerk thinks of me and there are 1000 at the company IMO.

at a GMM BM showed a set of wings that would be given out to those who participated in the MOU.

By next week you won't be able to find anyone who didn't give.

I heard about the wings at the GMM. I thought that it was identified as a bad idea and discarded. Perhaps I thought wrong?

i don't know if the idea was discarded or not. I know at the meeting no one stood up and complained about them.

Do you seriously think that there is a pilot here that was UNABLE? GMAB! More like UNWILLING. Seriously....let's think about that one.

Freightpuppy, you are certainly entitled to your opinion and are welcome to continue the character slurs to those who don't agree with your opinion. I choose not to. Resorting to name calling never seemed like a good idea even when in middle school. But that is my opinion, which I am entitled to also.

Remain united.

I stand by what I have said. If we all had the same attitude as they do/did, there would have been 300 furlough letters in the mail last week. I won't bring it up again and I'm glad you can take the high road but in this case, I just can't. I'd like a Corvette, new boat, an airplane, luxury vacations, etc, but it's more important to me to do right by others but I guess that's just too much to ask of people these days. My fiance always tells me my moral and ethical expectations of people are too high.

United regardless.
