Congrats on the 9 month furlough reprieve and best of luck for the next round of negotiations - there will be another round of negotiations for 2010 right?
BTW, the cheapskates that didn't contribute should be picking up the beer and dinner tabs during layovers!

I don't think the bottom 300 have it necessary to thank anyone. We are a type of fraternity that sticks together and supports each other. We all know that you folks are happy and thankful, but the thanking has to stop. First you are thanking us for the new contract, then the bonus, then the leather jackets. We as pilots and humans for that matter realize that we have to try our best to make things right and keep everyone on the property. Remember, it's the bottom 300 that likely gave the most. The IPA Pilot group did this collectively, two/thirds anyways.

I saw a spread sheet one of our junior pilots put together that showed between 200-225 age 65 forced retirements between 2009 and 2013 pretty dismal. DARN glad to have a job right now and be able to feed my family!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH to The IPA EB, The 67% (Especially the Military men and women who are going into harms way to save our jobs and protect our country), UPS, and to the 33% Good For You it was voluntary, but maybe you could help out for 2010!!
Let's all unify for 2012!!

I was very strong in thinking this was not going to pass. And I'm glade I was wrong.

I expect a Realignment Vacancy Bid followed by a Displacement Bid, but have no idea where the vacancies will be. I have about 234 DC8 crewmembers who need a seat, so I suppose there should be 234 vacancies.
The furlough mitigation options will create needs. For instance, if about 200 ANC FO's selected JS (to make the example easy), that would be the equivalent of reducing the manning in ANC by 100 FO's. I suppose that would create a need for 100 ANC FO vacancies. Some of those would be taken in the Realignment Vacancy Bid (by FE's, for example), but many would be unfilled. The Displacement Bid would then result in bumping which would trickle down to fill ANC. ADDED: There are 89 junior FE's on the DC8 reference seniority list from the last bid. They will probably all end up in ANC.
