OK I'm done
Well guys signed up for bunch more RDG and wish everyone luck but before i punch out for awhile let me get 1 thing straight. There is a very strong buzz around air center which there is only 1 and i mean 1 over 60 had signed up for this (mou) program. I hope i'm wrong but knowing the source i doubt he is, Time will tell but it doesn't suprise me since i have spoke to about 10-15 of them and they all said no and stupied idea
Good luck to bottom 300 and your families.

Hey brownie,
I'm far from over 60, and not always ready to run to their rescue ...
BUT the real problem is the low numbers OVERALL !
100% IPA is obviously just a slogan ...

The over 60 response should be big.
They recently received a huge windfall via Congress. BTW, I do not complain about this. But it should be part of the conversation. They can and should share the wealth for a short period of time.
I personally think they should feel responsible if there are layoffs and did nothing to try and stop it.

Well, I find that hard to believe, but I see no way this thing passes. It seems that the excuses never stop by those who wish not to participate. I even heard last night from several people that they still think this is all a bluff by UPS. "No way can they furlough 300" seems to be heard over and over again. Too many people here out for their own self interest for this thing to pass in my opinion.
For those who have signed up for what you said you would, and those who have signed up when they never indicated in March they would, thank you! For those who said they would participate and backed out, well, you know where you can shove it!

I'm willing to bet less than the fingers on one's hand sign up. The over 60 crowd will be 5 or less. They didn't leave at 60, what makes one think there going to leave now. One year added on, pleeaaassseee.
Now the guys at 55 to 60 getting no hit on the A plan, that's worth up to 40% gain on one's annuity. 8% per year credit. There may be 20 of them!!!!!

Understanding someone's motivation helps reveal why they try to convince you of such things.

I honestly dont see them doing the whole 300. There going to furlough in increments. 100, 50, 50, and so on. I assume. The 767 will be arriving soon, not soon enough, but soon. Economy may turn around this fall, or next year. And some retirements kicking in. And the JA ban. That's the one there worried about, not the OT.
The JA one will make them miss service, that's big.
So I'm hoping if this does happen, it will be less than 300.

If the MOU does not pass, and UPS furloughs, then we get our JA/open time ban in place. Now, if people continue to accept JA's and pick up open time, are they violating the contract? If they are in violation of the contract are they still members in good standing? If they are no longer members in good standing what do we as a "union" do about it?
