Salty,

Thanks, part of me loves the desert and all the mil flying, so while I may be ticked-off at the guys that don't participate, I won't be suffering as much as some may think. I do have a question to ask you that may benefit the MOU alot from my personal contribution......If I sign up for 2 months mil leave as per the ground rules, but my orders are cut for 180 days, can the union get the 180 days credit towards the tally?
call me or reply here
numbers in the IPA directory use the cell as I'm here in SDF 757 initial
CA
Thanks

I don't believe it for a second. UPS will be coming to the Union to see if they can still get some savings. And Reduce the Furlough. And UPS will Furlough. This is the Second time they have gone down this path. They would lose huge credibility if they dont Furlough some.

But 300 ain't happening.
This was started as a voluntary , look it up, program and it has been turned it to a program of contribute or be humiliated and vilified as selfish.
You are getting people to contribute that never indicated that they would participate at all and yet some insist on slandering the very pilots that they need to help them.

757UPSPilot,

I agree its voluntary, however after such an effort was made to include many options, some of which are painless to most, like the 10 hour RDG, how can anyone say they can't help, obviously some really can't due to various reasons, but the VAST MAJORITY should!! no excuse....Are you telling me some 2/3 of our guys can't give up 10 hours for a bid period or 2??
PLEAAASE

Obviously it is voluntary. However a furlough will affect every single IPA pilot negatively. They have changed the MOU to make it easy to contribute 10 hours of sick time. This is an easy call for every one on the list.

If we had much higher participation and still were not at the dollar amount you would not see such anger.

If everyone WHO said they would participate in what they indicated they would, we would not be in this position. I have no issue with those who never indicated they would participate. It is those who said they would I have issue with.

The people who did not want to participate did what they should have done, they said no on the survey. Now you have people who said no participating and contributing. They don't have to have an EXCUSE they indicated no at the beginning of the process.
Yes I contributed and I indicated none of the options in the survey

We currently have more people participating than indicated they would in the survey.

Its very likely that those who said they would took a look at the offer the company made and found it wouldn't work. Expectations of what the company would offer are where probably to high.
Attacking the pilots you want something from is not going to help you, people quit listening even if it would be beneficial for them to listen.

Hey the MOU won't work for everyone. However a 10 hour sick check donation will work for a majority of the 1500 that haven't signed up for anything yet. They will all benefit in some way if the MOU works and will be riding on the backs of those that did participate.

While I tend to agree with you telling someone else what they should do and the riding on someone elses back comment isn't going to help you get volunteers.
