I don't ever think they're going to let any flight managers go, no matter how much money they're costing them. They like the leverage of having an army of minions they can order around to fly to max FARs, with min FAR crew rest; people with no ability to hold their middle finger up to them.

This way, the company can also hold their middle finger up to the IPA in the next contract negotiation.

I've heard they also have PFE managers on the -8 that they aren't letting go. They're just finding something else for them to do.

The PFE mangalers are being trained to give line checks to IRO's that would be thier new title.

Word on the playground is that Lick Ball recently told all the managers not to worry, regardless of pretty much anything.

Shameful.
Yeah, you'd think they would lay off some flight managers.

Rick Barr also told a large room full of IPA pilots in January that they were not even considering furloughing pilots. A few weeks later, possible furloughs were announced.

AV80R is in my crash pad. I too wondered the same thing, and he has now confirmed that he has officially retired from Airline Pilot Central. I don't know if he'll pull a Favre, but at this time he has moved on to greener pastures...
