JL had some similar thoughts, but, it wasn't pre "O". "O" wrote the very same thing in his Chrismas O-gram last year (12-24-08).
You are certainly free to believe CRS's interpretation of the contract. (I assume they were the ones who removed you, albeit, not quite sure why they didn't remove you prior to your jumping into memphis as fatigued)
Personally, I'd be working towards getting those hours back. Alternatively, every time the company extends me to FAR limits I'd tell them I'm fatigued, afterall-the company told me I was fatigued on "30 Feb 09" when I only had a 13:31 day from my J/S show.

And, knock on wood, thus far CRS has never called me for a reserve trip that day either
Although, if any scheduling department could talk you into a Feb 30th trip, it would be FedEx's.
Except for those guys who never fly carryover that is-except for when they do.
