Thumbs up!

Good stuff Pere. As a matter of fact I figured the heck with the job share, why not just take roughly 2 years off? so thats what I put in for. Its gonna be a blast, I hope it goes through and I cant wait!!!! Money is overrated, happiness is underrated. Great travels and adventures will be had. www.poorbuthappy.com

Thanks Pere,

A lot of us are contributing, but I want to be the first to say EVERY seniority group appears to be helping. If this is not 100% IPA, then it is just a saying. I for one have been critical of the ND, but as of today I am over it. Thank you for making the IPA. By the way--I know Pere is not over 60.

Hopefully, but thats a pretty slim chance.

I'll have to post my pictures with a free service, but I can guarantee that all of you still toughing it out on the slave farm will be very jealous.

Being one of the bottom 300, I also believe we have to control our own destiny's and volunteer. It beats the alternative. Bottom 300 volunteer rates may indeed be low, but I think much of it has to do with all the conflicting/confusing information out there. The IPAs own Q&A says -8 guys can't volunteer for JS or RDG because they don't have a seat, but individual IPA reps are saying you can sign up for both. "Yes, you may sign-up for RDG and/or VLOA for 09-05, 09-06 and/or 09-07 even if you are not flying as you are on the DC-8 and yes, the saving will count towards the savings goal." I for one am signing up for both, maybe we'll get more credit that way. It'll be half pay no matter how you slice it anyway (RDG or LOA every other month).

Is that pay rates low or volunteer rates? I haven't found a link that claims that the bottom 300 are not volunteering, could you share it?

I did receive a letter from BM that participation is good so far in both junior and senior groups.

Participation is good throughout the whole age/seniority range. RDG, especially for short periods has really taken off. I think the idea of a large percentage of the group making a smaller sacrifice is easier to swallow. Volunteering for a single bid of RDG or J/S gives each of us as individuals a chance to take a break from UPS and help stop this furlough. Please spread the word, it is a great concept (and not my idea) plagiarism is the greatest compliment.

There is NO REASON why EVERY PILOT ON THE PROPERTY should not sign up for one pid period of JS or RLG at the minimum (junior, senior or in the middle)! I mean, if you can't do more then fine but everyone here should be able to afford to give up a half of months pay for one month! Wouldn't it be an awesome message to the company if every single pilot volunteered? (I know it won't happen, but it SHOULD) What do you all think?
most of the senior members who either have or will retire under this contract did sacrifice for the more junior members several years ago when the pension went from $3700 to $3000 in exchange for the elimination of the "B" scale.

Well good thing you have 5 more years to make it up.

I can't wait to spend 5 more years hauling you guys back and fourth to Clark.
