I know nothing about you, and I did not "pass judgment" on you.

If you CHOOSE not to volunteer, so be it.

Do not let your anger at UPS affect your decision to do what is best for YOU!

PS There are lots of people that will be in terrible shape if UPS furloughs. This program may be voluntary, but I see your point about feeling coerced into participating. Once again, do what is best for YOU.

Having said that can I ask you the same question I asked earlier on this thread? How much does our company need to make in order for this Furlough threat to go away. I mean if they are making 1.2 Billion a quarter like they did in 07-08 are they still looking at this 131 million in savings from the union? This sounds absurd to me and the MOU does not address it.
The MOU does address it. Please read it again. It says that UPS can cancel this thing when needed. If they are filling all the planes up and need crews they will stop building RDG lines and shut down JS. They will ask guys to stop their leaves and so forth. UPS does have an out. They will be fine with the retirements and mil leaves. In fact, in this case they would have to, brace yourself, hire.

I will be interested to see if guys are still going to suck up every ounce of open time while a bunch of us are getting a 50% paycheck? I will not judge because it is contractual, but a little common sense if possible. Here and there for kid's braces, but a new boat???

I didn't volunteer for anything in the survey. Some of my friends didn't either. But as we all talk, we will all sign up for something. None of us could stand to look at ourselves if we ended up falling one guy short of making the number and we didn't do anything.

I still see guys making over 400K a year even if there's 300 guys out on the street with signs..."will work for food".

It would be pretty stupid to preach about doing it and not do it, don't you think?

Have you done YOUR share?
Easy now just making sure the preacher is not only preaching and yes i've done my share before you even brought it up

There are lots of folks doing the MIL, RDG, etc. Don't use the JS board as an indicator. And don't show your cards until UPS calls your bet.

See you in 2.5 yrs after MLOA.

The open time should get picked up and ja's accepted by ipa crews that way giving less reason for 200 mangalers existance. If we reject the o/t and ja's ups will show atlanta that how valuable these guys are on paper of course

IMO, the fact that you cannot fly part time (for the most part) is one of the biggest drawbacks of this career. You are stuck flying to guarantee and that's it. This is a program I would love to have in place even if the economy wasn't in the shape it is in.
