FDX - 09-04 FDA Guesstimates?
#51
You will see some pulled bids for sure.
The willingness to build the average 727 line 20 hrs less than the 757 is instructive.
If and when the FDAs feel the bite of 4a2b it will not be pretty.

Not a lot of significant change.
No change in CDG Capt seniority....a little more junior in CDG FOs (the trend continues!)
HKG FO gets 1 additional taker --- 16 total.
MEM 757 Capt holds pretty steady (a little bit more senior) with 25 primary and 7 secondary slots
Stby for Final Award to close out next week --- Mon, Jun 15th

I'll restart the thread. From the practice bid it looks like the HKG F/O slot is still short. They gained 11 but lost at least 8. Some HKG Capt are bailing too.

Practice summary
Including the current practice award then...
there are 68 HKG Captains,
and 53 HKG FO's. (not sure why the big difference in numbers?)
On this practice, 3 HKG Captains are leaving, 1 to 75 MEM Captain , and 2 to CDG Captain.
1 HKG FO is going to CDG Captain as well.
CDG is getting all the spots filled with 43 Capts, and 42 FO's, the FO seat looks very junior.
Of course all the MEM 75 Captain slots are all filled.
So out of the whole posting I only see 2 spots that are not filled, the HKG FO slots. (they wanted 13 and have 11)
One more practice and then the real deal...of course we have heard that before!

We've been able to fill the holes in the HKG FO schedule with MEM based pilots for some time now. This "extra" flying has barely made a dent in the overmanned MEM Airbus FO flying schedule.
When we fill CDG, we will lose the MEM based schedules for that flying too.
If it mirrors the HKG experience, the shift should look like this---
60-65 hr schedules for European SIBA (includes deadheads to and from)
vs.
80 hr schedules for CDG
How may positions are we eliminating with the standup of CDG?

For those bidding CDG, you should check the dollar and it's slide against the Euro, once again. I had a few L/O 's in CDG this summer and the cost of living there is crazy. Even if you don't have kids, it's going to be a money losing proposition. Especially if the dollar keeps sliding. I for one do not want to waste any negotiating capital in the next contract to improve the FDA. I figure if guys are willing to go to these FDA's with the current POS LOA, then they are happy with it and they can live with it. There are to many other things that need to be worked on that are more important.

Did you miss the 6 HKG FOs going to CDG or am I just reading it wrong?
Sorry editing error now it reads better. My point is I see 8 HKG F/Os leaving for CDG and only 11 inbound that makes a delta of +3. You could have secondaries fill them but how can there be secondaries if only 11 of the 13 original slots were filled.
